Are Zeus and Sasha Splitting Up?

I love dogs and pictures of dogs and videos of dogs, but I have to say this little clip is the cutest!!!  I don’t know where she lives, but if it’s nearby, Sasha might have to work it to keep Zeus’ interest.  LOL  Zeus is my german shepherd dog, and Sasha lives right across the street with our neighbors.

Here is my gorgeous Zeus and Sasha gazing longingly across the street at each other!  They are so cute!  She is the only dog he won’t bark at from inside the front door.  And THAT’S saying something!  LOL  Instead, he stares out at her and just whines and cries.  He’s totally smitten, but the cutie in the video below really has some moves!  I don’t think he’s that fickle, though.  😉

How to make Southern Rolled (Pinched Off) Biscuits from Scratch

I love me some homemade biscuits!  Those ones in a can are just not the same.  I’ve tried several different recipes over the years, but this is a new (or should I say OLD?) technique for me.  And I am definitely going to give it a try!

This recipe is demonstrated by a Southern lady who learned this from her Grandma when she was just a girl.  It’s done in a very unusual way.  The shortening and buttermilk go in a bowl which has a good amount of King Arther unbleached self-rising flour pressed against the sides.  Then she stirs around and around with her fingers until the liquid has collected enough flour to get it to the right consistency.  And what flour is left is just stored away for next time.  I find that pretty awesome!  You’d only have to grab your bowl and throw in the milk and shortening to start a new batch.

Watch Mama’s rolled “pinch off” biscuits and let me know what you think about it in the comments below!

Isn’t she just so sweet?  I could listen to her all day!  Have you ever made biscuits this way?  I don’t know about you, but I’m craving some biscuits and gravy!  LOL

Have a great day y’all!

A few tidbits for you

Sorry I haven’t been around for a while. I guess I was in a funk, but chronic pain can do that to you. Thank you for being patient!

One thing that happened this summer is that this (at the time the youngest) grandson learned how to walk!

And his bigger brother kept searching around his house calling out for me.  “Mawmaw…”  You know, in very sensible places like closets, the kitchen cabinets, and under the chairs.  LOL

The oldest of the grandboys started school!  And developed a new hobby.  Collecting acorns!

And next oldest started Headstart!  It’s so exciting to ride the school bus!!!

The latest big excitement was a new grandboy!  Grandma (me) was just enchanted!

And Great Grandma was just as tickled as she could be!

Mommy, Daddy and Big Brother were all so happy!  It’s hard work being a big brother, but he’s ready for it!

And to end the summer… my lovely baby girl enjoyed Grandpa’s roses!

Zeus Has a Rough Life

I am pretty sure my kids are jealous of our german shepherd dog, Zeus.  LOL  He is so spoiled!  But you wouldn’t hear that from him.  He is constantly pouting and throwing tantrums (staring silently)!  Really, as you can see, Zeus has a very rough life.  LOL

Zeus has a rough life
Well, in all fairness, we only give him raw hamburger, and Milkbones, and scads of tennis balls, and real bones, and cheese, and ice cream, not to mention the hugs and scratches and he basically has his own couch.  But we have been so neglectful not to give him his own remote!!!  I’ll go to a cave and live in shame now.  😉
