Christmas 2017 Paintings

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by! I know I’m a little late getting these posted, but better late than never, huh? LOL I didn’t do many handmade gifts this year, but here are the two I created!  I have been painting a little bit, and knew a couple people who would love one!

I’m just learning to paint, so please keep that in mind!  And… be gentle.  hehe

I made this for my Mom for Christmas 2017.  I call it Swinging Girl.  As a new painter, I was happy to follow a tutorial by The Art Sherpa on YouTube!  Thank you Cinnamon (Yep!  Her name is really Cinnamon!)!  #artsherpa

This is also one of The Art Sherpa’s tutorials!  I call it Cherry Tree Hugging the Moon.  I made it for my eldest daughter for Christmas 2017.  #artsherpa

Free Screencasting or Recording Apps!

I just had to tell you about a couple tools I recently discovered!  They are screencasting or recording software or apps that are FREE and EASY!  It just can’t get better than that!

The first, and my favorite is Screencast-O-Matic!  It is SO easy to use!  There is a Free version and a Paid version.  The free version is pretty awesome, but only allows for 15 minute videos, and includes a watermark on your finished video.  It does let you record your screen or webcam, and you can save it to your computer, or upload it directly to Youtube in  HD, if you wish!

The paid version is a lot nicer!  First, no watermark!  Woo!  Also, you can make longer recordings, and even record the audio coming from your computer!  You can even make scripted recordings!  Awesome sauce!  Plus, there’s several editing tools, and even draw and zoom tools!  And on top of being able to upload to Youtube, you can also upload to Google Drive, Vimeo Pro, and Dropbox.  Sweet huh?  I prefer the paid version.  For only $15 you get a whole year!  But my personal choice is the 3 year plan for $29, which means you get ONE WHOLE YEAR FREE!!  I know, right??  But no matter which one you choose, they are all a great, simple choice!

The second, and not quite as fancy, but good for gamers, is a Windows product that comes on Windows 10 computers called Gamebar.  All you have to do to start it is press your Windows key + G.  Click the record button, or Windows + R.  Turn the mic on and off with Win + Alt + M.  When you start recording, you will see a timer in the upper right area of your screen.  You can also stop recording by tapping that.  The file saves automatically to your Videos folder.  It is also accessible in your Xbox account on your computer.
